This Sunday 10 October is World Zombie Day. A whole lotta shambling is going to go on in downtown Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh’s video journalism portal has kindly put up I Walked With A Zombie as a feature video. The fun clip features footage from Pittsburgh’s 2009 zombie walk at Monroeville Mall, as well as goth-crooner A.T Vish and my good self wigging out at The Brillobox.
The second episode of my mini-program ‘The Rebel Spirit’ is being broadcast on Australia’s ABC Radio National at 9.00pm Friday 2nd July (Aussie) time, 7.00am EST USA. It features an interview with the amazing American computer music pioneer Laurie Speigel, whose achievements include a record sent into space by NASA to explain life on earth to aliens. This series is part of RN’s wonderful program on spiritually inspired music, The Rhythm Divine.
The first of a three part segment I have developed called The Rebel Spirit is going to air on Australia’s national broadcaster, Radio National, at 9.00 pm Friday June 4 Aussie time – thats 7.00 am Eastern Yankee time. After that, it will be airing the first Friday in July and August. The Rebel Spirit is a series of short interviews with contemporary American composers who talk about how their music relates to their spiritual feelings and aspirations. Its part of a long-standing RN program called The Rhythm Divine.

I’m currently back in Australia for a while. ABC Radio National, Australia’s national public broadcaster has a long standing show on spiritual and religious matters called Encounter. This Sunday (7 February, 7.10 am Australian eastern time, repeated Wednesday 7.00pm), Encounter is doing a special on contemporary spiritual music called ‘Planet of Praise’. It includes an interview with me where I talk about the inspirations behind the ‘electronic hymns’ on The Jilted Bride’s CD ‘Larceny of Love’. More info here
