Hailed as one of the leadling lights of the American space rock and ambient scene, Windy and Carl have released numerous albums, including on the hallowed Kranky label and inspired relationships with music that many hear as ‘the sound of love’.

The second episode of What I Reckon features an interview with Laurie Spiegel, a former folk musician turned computer music pioneer. Laurie was one of the first composers to use the computer as an instrument, and some of her astounding recordings were put on the first Voyager space probes in the 1970s to communicate with aliens. Laurie also developed one of the first commercially available music software programs ever built.
The pilot episode of What I Reckon features an interview with Suzanne Ciani, a creatrix who helped popularize the synthesizer in the early ’70s. She has left her mark on American music culture through her famous sound designs for commercials and arcade games, and her production of path-breaking electronic New Age albums, five of which have achieved Grammy nominations.
