Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of chatting to London based artist-activist and filmmaker Dan Edelstyn about the making of Canary Wharf: the Rock Opera. Dan and Hilary Powell’s previous project Bank Job was a huge influence on Canary Wharf.  Their current project Power (as of 2023) is equally inspiring: they are building a solar POWER STATION across the rooftops (streets, schools, community buildings) of North East London via enacting a grassroots Green New Deal – working with art and infrastructure to tackle the interlinked climate/energy/cost of living crises.  You can check out the 30 min Zoom interview (which includes some excerpts from the Canary Wharf DIY film) here.
